MEET THE LOWYIM PARTNERS TEAM

We’re small and boutique, and we make no apology for this! What we’ve learnt over the years is that recruitment is as much an art as it is a science. Yes, there are important disciplines to follow, and a best practice approach is important. What really matters however, is the execution, and with the knowledge and experience we bring to the table, this is where we really deliver.

We started Low Yim Partners back in 1997. As experienced search and executive recruiters, we wanted to provide a better recruitment experience for both our clients and our candidates. One that wasn’t focused on sales metrics at the expense of people, quality, and a great result – the human touch.

Over the years we’ve refined, and continue to refine our recruiting. We’ve found great people across many industry sectors and job functions, from junior professional through to senior management roles; this has included successful search, recruitment and contractor placements. We have excellent networks, relationships, and resources to draw on. And we’re in for the long haul! The owners and senior recruiters in this business are hands-on, ensuring you benefit directly from our expertise. You won’t be dealing with junior recruiters who disappear, taking with them all the knowledge and time you have invested in building a recruiting partnership. ALLEN LOWYIM, B Com

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Allen began his career in accounting, marketing and general management in the manufacturing sector. Followed by time as a contractor himself Allen was offered the opportunity to join the recruitment industry. With a recruitment career spanning more than 25 years, Allen’s experience has included running contracting divisions, managing senior executive appointments, and working with an international top ten executive search organisation, helping clients identify top tier senior managers across all functionalities.

Within Low Yim Partners Allen has recruited broadly across:

  • C-Level and General Management roles
  • Specialist Accounting and Finance roles
  • Operations Management
  • Engineering and Technical roles
  • Production Management
  • Procurement and Supply Chain
  • Sales Management
  • Human Resources
  • Contractor placements at all levels

Outside of work Allen tries to maintain a few squash and tennis games, accompanied by regular visits to the osteo(!), and he is a less than dedicated runner and gym goer.  The rest of his time focuses around supporting the sports interests of a busy teenage family, enjoying a red wine or 2 and a good meal out with friends or family.

KAREN WHITE, B.Ed, PG Dip Bus (Marketing)

DIRECTOR

Karen has been involved in recruitment for over 20 years as a senior recruiter specialising in Sales and Marketing roles, and in General Management within a large recruitment company.

Qualified in marketing, Karen has specialised in recruiting a range of professional roles, predominantly across:

  • Marketing
  • Product Management
  • Public Relations and Marketing Communications
  • Sales and Sales Management
  • Human Resources

This has ranged from graduate and junior professional level through to Divisional/Business Unit/General Management roles across Technical / Industrial, Service, FMCG, Consumer, Manufacturing and B2B market sectors. Karen is also a Partner of Low Yim Partners Ltd.

Beyond work Karen enjoys running for fitness, having finally retired from the hockey field in the last year, (never say never!) yoga, and supporting Auckland’s fine restaurants! She is a committee member and volunteer for a not-for-profit entity in the dance community, and otherwise generally busy with family life.
